This is my dad. He served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, he was in the 805th Transportation Company in Vung Tau. Everything I learned of war and Vietnam I learned from this man, and I am very proud to call him my father. I grew up with stories of Vietnam, some sad, some funny but he was always proud to have served his nation no matter what the outcome of this war. I have seen the effects of war in this man, the memories, the nightmares, and to know that he came home to a nation that was ashamed of him for doing a job he was told to do, trained to do, truly saddens me. He retired last year after 20 |
