These riders begin to change the ways Weyrs are run in an effort to maintain disipline. Many veteran Riders from the Pass object, led primarily by female greenriders, who begin to see their roles reduced as politics begin to dictate ranks and Wing personel. In response, women begin to not Stand as candidates at some Weyrs unless a Queen egg is on the Sands, unneeded to reach candidate numbers for small Interval clutches, women riders are largely seen as liabilities by most Weyrleaders, many of whom were Weyrlings or not yet Impressed at the end of Pass. The numbers of female greenriders dwindle as few replace Pass veterans as a result, though the Crafts continueto welcome women.

Turn 309 AL/2 SP: Jolane Impresses Gold Hielith at Igen Weyr; Malina's management skills become highly valued by Belkora, but the senior shows no signs of retirement or of considering Malina as a replacement in spite of her advancing age; Fall losses slowly begin to be stemmed as old skills are relearned and adapted.
Turn 311 AL/4 SP: The DragonHealerCraft, in responce to the loss of two masters and several journeymen riders to Fall, grounds the remaining Dragonhealers who are riders for the duration of Pass, not without outrage from several Craftsmen; many Holders begin withholding potential Candidates and fewer are eager to become riders, though enthusiasm for the Weyrs as institutions becomes high.

Turn 314 AL/6 SP: Belkora, now 62 and growing ill, leads the Queen's Wing in Fall, and her luck catches up to her; she and Finreth jump Between to home, and never emerge. The shocked Weyr is left without it's longtime Weyrwoman and with the question of her successor, as Belkora never indicated who that should be and the Weyrs are eager to avoid any conflicts. In the interim, both Malina and Jolane share the duties and both are considered good candidates. A Weyr Conclave decides to use old traditions and the rider of the first of the two Queens to rise will become Weyrwoman with an open flight for Weyrleader; Several would-be Weyrleaders are sent to Northern Barrier, and the Weyrfolk soon are hoping for anyone but the visitors to catch thanks to arrogant behavior.
