Physical Description: He's a playful, slightly feminine looking man, with bright grey-green eyes, curly light brown hair worn short, and fine features, with a thin nose that's a bit long for his face, which often has a smile dancing across it. T'dren's got a deeply winter tanned face and neck, thanks to turns of living and flying in all weathers at the cold Weyr, and is startlingly pale everywhere else. He has no discernable scars, and is of medium build and average height at 5'10", fit and muscular from riding.
Personality: T'drens a bundle of contradictions. He rides green, when he dreamed of a bronze and of leading a Weyr. He hates the cold, yet couldn't be removed from his beloved, frequently snowy Weyr with a prybar. He's not overly fond of animals in general, and he has a fire lizard. It's a good thing he finds the humor in most things, because he's almost a poster child for ironic twists, and has come to accept it. Hes generally one of the most fun loving and upbeat people in the Weyr, playful and cheery, known for his practical jokes. Mostly, these are harmless, though they can take a spiteful turn when it comes to one segment of the Weyr population. He hates Holders. He flies to protect them because its his duty, but as far as hes concerned Thread could devour the lot and itd suit him fine. Hold-bred riders never are accepted by him, or enter his circle of friends, and he enjoys putting them through misery and testing them. Never anything threatening, but he loves doing things such as oh...giving them the wrong time for a drill, helpfully misdirecting them, and other delightful tricks. That one of his little pranks on a hapless holder-born got him thrown out of Vortex Wing a week after being tapped into it didnt help his feelings towards them.
Hobbies: He plays the lap harp, not well, but he tries. He also enjoys helping his sister and the other cooks in the kitchens at times.
History: Tandren? Well, he was born to a brownrider and a newly transferred Tanner journeyman after a one night stand. No flight was involved, just a good meal and a few drinks. Nine months later, he was born. A month old, he was abandoned by his mother, who left for a new post in shame, her holder morals didnt allow for a father who refused, by Weyr custom, to espouse her when she was with child; though he provided for and proudly acknowledged the boy. Tal saw to it his son was well fostered with his half-sister, Tals by another woman, and he did his best by his children, spending as much time with them as a riders life allowed. His childhood was happy, loving, and an excellent one, he planned to Impress bronze, and one day maybe be a Weyrleader and make his father proud. Tdren didnt learn about his mother until he was ten Turns old, and when he did, fury filled him. How dare she be ashamed of him? He did write her once, a few Turns later when he was a Candidate, thinking shed be proud of her son. What he got back was heartbreaking, that he was not to contact her again, she had a new family, a proper one and he was a mistake shed sooner forget. Tandren never told his father, who he idolized, of what he did. His anger turned towards Holders, the ones he held responsible for such stupid ideas, and he realized how lucky he was to have the Weyr, and be appreciated by it.
He soon had a distraction, when the Hatching came. A lovely moss green dragonet emerged from her shell, and approached the boy. {{My, youre perfect! Im Maslith.}} She declared, and Tandrels dreams of Weyrleadership collapsed. Sure, he liked other boys, but did she have to be a green?? Even so, she was perfect in his eyes, and it wasnt hard to accept Wingrider status if she was his. He entered training, ready and willing to do his duty. Tal gave him a fire lizard egg when he was tapped into Nova Wing three Turns later, and Tdren hadnt been overly thrilled, but kept it as a gift from his father. It hatched a bronze he named Yim, that made him the envy of many when he showed the flit off. Serving beside his father, hed never been as proud in his life. Then disaster happened a Turn later. A clump struck Tals Kambenth, and the pair went Between. The loss of his father in Fall nearly destroyed Tdren, he went into Fall with, in all honesty, a death wish, heedless of risk, he and Maslith began to throw themselves into danger on behalf of Wingmates. It took Maslith being scored to snap him out of it, and a half-Turn ago, he was considered improved, and was tapped into Vortex. Until he couldnt resist taking out some ire on a hold-bred Wingmate, and Wkel busted him down to Eclipse and made him grateful he wasnt back to firestone relay like a Weyrling. Now, hes readjusting to his position, still smarting over the demotion, though he secretly is enjoying the post. Its likely hell remain there, flying Queens Wing seems to suit him.
