Roger's Biography
Roger is Andre's
father, but is also patriarch to all of the Survivors. And not
just because it's his beach we play on and his house we stay
at. Roger was a Steward in the Armed Forces for nearly three
decades, and his training has stayed with him. He aims to
please, constantly asking the Survivors if they need anything, and
meaning it. If you need something, he's your man, or he knows
a guy.
Roger served his country well in the Canadian Armed Forces as a
steward, mess manager, and whatever else they asked him to do.
He's never killed a man (we think), but he could get you a liquor
license at the drop of a hat and plan a party like that. He's
been everywhere, man, from Hawaii to Bermuda, from Tromso to Germany
and back. Equally at ease at sea or on land, he looks really
cool in an Air Force uniform.
His best accomplishment, of course, is Andre. (It's my
website, so live with it...) His second-best accomplishment is
The
Den. Retired, and with much time on his hands, he built
the den out of driftwood and dreams. The Survivors were all
impressed. As Shawn put it, "Hey Andre, your dad makes Rudy
look like a big fat wuss." The Den impressed us almost as much
as the pink trim inside the Survivor Manor. He is also an
accomplished Accordian player, and is learning how to play the
Sitar. His hearty laugh and his gentle smile are an
inspiration to all the Survivors. He never ceases to amaze.
Roger is most like the real Survivor, Rudy.
But much better.
