Raqs Sharqi - Also known as Oriental or Egyptian. The cabaret form of bellydance seen in modern Middle Eastern nightclubs.
American Nightclub/Cabaret - This cabaret form fuses movements from a variety of cabaret and folkloric styles. Usually includes props and floorwork.
Turkish Cabaret - Another carbaret form that often utilizes bigger movements than Raqs Sharqi. Costuming is also a bit less modest.
American Tribal Style - also know as ATS, is a style completely created by Americans. It is chaacterized by a unique posture and the performance of group improv onstage.
Tribal Fusion - This style incorporates the posture and movements of ATS but also borrows movements from other forms such as Bhangra, Flamenco, African, and Yoga.
Gothic - This style blends the movements from other styles of bellydance with Gothic fashion and aesthetics. |
