50 Pounder Great Barracuda
We were lucky when meet this fish, because this 50 lbs. Great Barracuda is the only one that could make us yield "YES". Even we were catch it using hand lining, but still excited.
A one day fishing in Muara Binuangen, two of our members Rudy and Eka fishing around Tinjil island. The weather and water were not too good for fishing. They just want to try their luck in bad season. The wind blews quiet strong and give them enough hard time to set the lures.
One 50 lbs and two of 30 lbs tackles were set, and a 200 lbs hand line tackle to make it four. All of them tied Rapala magnum plugs in various sizes at the end of the leaders. Some tackles produced 1-2 lbs fishes and no exciting stories to tell about.
After a while the spool of 200 lbs jumped several times and start loosing the line quickly. A boat crew grab the spool before jump to the water and it seems he couldn't stand to fight alone. So Rudy and Eka together gave him a hand to pull the line. So the three of them could pull the line without loosing any. 7 minutes later the fish landed at the deck of the boat and they yielded their "YES". |
