| Since it was made mostly from scrap materials I call it the scrappy mount |
| This is the Scrappy Mount. Basically it is a piece of 1" stainless prop shaft in a pipe with tapered roller berrings to hold it. One end of the shaft has a machined plate to hold the Declination assembly (dec.). the other end the. Right Assention drive (ra) has a 359 tooth drive gear , driven by a worm assembly ,a belt and a stepper The ra pipe assembly was welded to a hinge that was welded to a piece of 1/2"plate and is ajusted with 2 threaded rods with nuts, for polar alignment. The dec assembly is 3/4" steel rod suported by pillow berrings with a course- 50-1 reduction, spring loaded worm assembly. The rest of the dec reduction is composed of a gear on the stepper driving a secondary gear with a pully for a belt glued onto it |
