Q: When I layer the Fender and Marshall amps, it's almost impossible to hear the Marshall contributing the mix unless I substantially reduce the Amp Volume of the Fender. Is there an easier  way to balance the volume differences between two different amps so they're approximately equal loudness?

A: If you're needing to get more volume out of an amp after using the Volume on each modeled amp itself, your best bet for leveling the amp models out is to use the COMP (dual post compressor) with a Threshold setting of 0dB for each amp, then adjust the Gain setting of the COMP to level the amps out...it allows for plus/minus 40dB of Gain, and that's more than enough to equal any amps out...of course, you may also want to use a threshold setting of -3dB (or more) to even out the overall dynamics of one or both the amps.

Q: Is the Vetta a stereo amp?

A: The Vetta's output signal is true stereo. You can set the pan position for both AMP1 and AMP2 and it will be saved as part of each patch. The effects such as Pitch (two voices each panable), Modulation, Delay, and Reverb are all panable when used as Post Effects.

Q: Does the Vetta support a software editor for patches?

A: No. The Vetta does not currently support a software editor for patches. But according to the Line 6 tech support that I received, you never know, it could always be a future possibility. However, the Vetta does support patch backup via midi system exclusive (or sysex for short), and I've included a link to a sysex utility program to do that.

Q: Do the echo/delays/reverbs spill over between patches?

A: No. The echo/delays and reverbs do not spill over between patches, they end immediately as you switch to another patch. However, you can create a spillover if you use an EXTERNAL DELAY/REVERB (line level, not stompbox) in the FX Loop, and the FX Loop is turned on for a series of patches. As long as the FX Loop remains turned on, switching between these FX Loop Patches will allow the external fx unit to continue sounding out.

Q: Is the Vetta limited to "only" 64 user patch locations?

A: No. The Vetta actually allows you to upload your own created tones into the Factory's banks via MIDI and replace the original Factory tones. This allows you to have a total of 128 fully customized patches at your disposal.

Q: Which Line 6 amps will the FBV Shortboard work with?

A: The FBV Shortboard will:

  • Work with Vetta Combo, Vetta HD, Duoverb, PODXT, and Flextone III
  • Access to 36 Presets on Duoverb
  • Dedicated channel switches
  • Dedicated effect and FX loop On/Off switches
  • Large naming display
  • Wah/Volume pedal
  • Expression pedal input for dedicated Volume control
  • Chromatic tuner
  • Tap tempo switch (for Vetta use only)
  • Powered by the Vetta or Duoverb

Q: Which Line 6 amps will the FBV (formerly FBX) Pedal Board work with?

Line 6 FBV Foot Controller for Vetta Combo

A: The FBV Pedal board will:

  • Work with Vetta Combo, Vetta HD, Duoverb, PODXT, and Flextone III
  • Dedicated channel switches
  • Dedicated effects on/off switches
  • Large name display
  • Wah pedal with toe switch on/off
  • Volume pedal
  • Chromatic digital tuner
  • Tap Tempo
  • No wall-wart—powered by Vetta

Q: Why do the Wah/Volume pedals on my FBV Pedal Board not appear to be working?

A: There are toggle switches located underneath the the toe area of both pedals that must be engaged. By pressing down firmly on each of the pedals while in the toe-down position, you can toggle the pedals On/Off. The LED's located at the tip of the pedals will "light up" to let you know when the pedal is turned On.

Q: How can I make FBV Pedals stay "ON" for each patch?

A: You must turn each pedal on first, then re-save the patch.
