I wrote this essay which doesn't have very much opinion integrated into it, on July 26th 2001 for my History 102 class for extra credit. It is simply a brief general history of World War II. Based largely on information I obtained in reading Western Civilization: A History of European Society- Volume 2: From the Old Regime to the Present (1648-present). Nathaniel Hawthorne, in addition to writing the famous novel The Scarlet Letter, also wrote an essay called "The Birthmark." It's about a woman who's petrified about her appearance and do to societal pressure, goes to extreme measures, I wrote this paper in response to it. Click Here to read it.
In William A. Henry III's essay, "In Defense of Elitism" he argues that our country spends too much money on promoting education. Henry believes the university to be for the elite only and is angered by so-called "lower" standards. In this essay written by me for my final exam in English 102 called "In Defense of the Ordinary."
