How You Can Help
Fostering:  All of the rescues are kept in volunteers' homes.  While they are there, any social or medical issues are addressed until the rescue is ready for adoption.
Supplies: Food, collars, crates and leashes are some of the needs of the rescues.  We feed our rescues Nutro Chicken and Rice food.  Although it is a little more expensive than other brands, we feel this is the best for the dogs.  The rescues often come to Nashville Schnauzer Rescue without collars or leashes.
Grooming:  Most of the dogs we receive are in need of grooming.  Sometimes we can groom them, but often they are so matted that professional grooming is necessary.
Transportation:  We often pick up rescues from the surrounding areas, and help other rescue groups with transportation.
Donations: "In kind" donations of grooming and medical services would be very helpful.  Many of the rescues exceed their adoption fee in medical bills (our current  adoption fee is $125).  Heartworm treatment costs nearly $300 and a dental cleaning alone, which many of them badly need, is $50.  Of course, cash donations are always welcome.
Business Cards:  We would like to have  business cards to hand out to the schnauzer lovers we meet, and to hand out at "Doggie  Events".
Fellowship:  We are a small but growing group of volunteers.  We are trying to plan socials to stay in touch and get to know one another better, and trade schnauzer stories!  We also have a newsletter put out about 4 times a year.
