�Who were you talking to?� Kasey asked, walking up to his brother. �No one� Kale answered non chalantly. Kasey sat down next to Kale �I need some advice� he said. Kale�s breath caught in his throat. �There is no way he is about to ask me what I think he is going to ask me� he said to himself. Kasey sighed �Ok last night, Kat and I were uh, Well we were kissing on the couch and in walked her boyfriend� Kale acted as if he were shocked. �Well what happened?� he encouraged Kasey to go on. �Well she ran out after him, they had a huge fight. Then she comes back in and we act like nothing happened. I mean I don�t know what to do, my feelings for her have totally changed� Kasey said, lowering his head.
Kale thought for a moment �Have you talked to her about all this?� he asked, knowing very well that they had. �Yeah, I told her to straighten it all out with him before anything between us happens. This may sound bad but I don�t want them to work it out.� Kasey admitted. Kale chuckled inwardly, shaking his head he started to tell Kasey what he thought he should do.

�Hey Kale� Kat said, picking up her cell, Kale just chuckled. �What�s so funny� she asked, biting her lip nervously. �You and my brother! I just spent the last 10 minutes talking to him about you and now I have to talk to you about him� Kale couldn�t stop chuckling. He found the situation to be quite interesting. �Well, are you going to tell me what he said or not?� Kat asked. Kale explained to her what Kasey had said, about his feelings changing for her and how much he hoped her and Danny wouldn�t get back together. Kat just huffed, she knew that Kasey had a small crush on her but she didn�t know that he really liked her like Kale had said.
Kat hung up the phone and pulled her knees up to her chest. She laid her head on her knees and thought about everything Kale had just told her. She about jumped when her cell phone rang. Looking at the caller ID she smiled.
�Mr. Kahne� she said, as she answered the phone. Kasey smiled when he heard her voice �Hey you� he said. �What�s up?� Kat asked, wondering why Kasey was calling her. �Not much. I just wanted to ask you, since I am leaving tomorrow, if you wanted to have dinner with me� he asked nervously. �Yep sounds good� Kat agreed, silently jumping up and down. �Ok I will be by after the race, you are going to watch aren�t you?� he asked. �Yep� Kat said. Kasey smirked as he said goodbye.
Sitting back against his car he heard Tommy talking with Kale. Turning around both of them looked at him and smirked �those two are up to something� Kasey said to himself. Walking towards the pair they quickly stopped their conversation. �What�s up guys?� Kasey asked, eyeing Kale. They both just shrugged their shoulders. Kasey knew that the two were planning something he just wasn�t sure what.
****After the race****
�I�m coming� Kat yelled as she made her way through the living room, stopping in front of the mirror to check herself one more time. She opened the door and smirked when she saw Kasey standing there. He was wearing a pair of Khaki dress pants and a blue dress shirt. �Damn he looks good� she thought as she grabbed her purse. �You look really good� Kasey said, kissing her lightly on the cheek. Pulling away Kat blushed. �You had a great race� she commended him on his second place finish �oh and you look nice too�. Kasey chuckled, why was he so nervous around her? This was his best friend, I mean yeah they messed around the night before, but does that really change everything? He wondered as he opened the car door for her.
The drive to the restaurant was silent, awkwardly silent. Finally, Kasey broke the silence. �You didn�t happen to talk to Kale today did you?� he asked, causing Kat�s head to spin. �Had Kale told him about their conversation?� she wondered as she thought about how to answer him. �Yeah for a minute why?� she asked. �Just wondering if he said what was up with him and Baldwin. They were acting really weird earlier� he simply stated. Kat inwardly breathed a sigh of relief �Nope didn�t mention anything to me about it� she said. Kasey nodded and continued to drive.
