Dream Intrepretation

Welcome to the dream interpretations page. I am still interpreting dreams like usual. As a rule I haven't in the past charged for interpretations and don't plan on it now, but if you are a person of means and I have helped you, you could help pay for my time doing this work. I leave it up to you how much you would like to contribute, and if you are so inclined please do email me and I will give you an address to a check via PayPal.

If you would like for me to interpret a dream for you, just click on this link. Please type in the subject line of your email, "dream interpretation", or I might miss it. I get some advertising emails which I delete along with any emails not marked plainly for a dream interpretation.Click Here

Here I will share with you some of my philosophy on interpreting dreams, and how I go about it. I do not use any pat formulas or schemes to interpret dreams, for I believe that every person is a unique individual and each person's dream symbols have to be individually considered.

I also do not use dream books, but instead consider what the dream seems to be saying, using the dream's symbols and logic. Since I don't know most of the people I interpret for, I use my own dreams and my interpretations of them over the years to try and imagine what the dream is about. I also need to give credit to Edgar Cayce, Joan Grant, and Jane Roberts, since some of what I have learned and applied has come to me from their writing, along with the many insights I got from Mario, my mentor.

Dreams have many sources. Some just come from falling asleep and changing levels of consciousness, while others may come from a poorly digested meal. On the other end of the spectrum some are spiritual experiences given by the inner self to the personality to help with problems and to help the personality to fullfill itself in the most beneficial ways. I also believe that dreams are meant to be beneficial and of help in finding an understanding of life events, and of our emotions. Yet dreams sometimes surprise and shock us, and we can become frightened by their appearance. This has happened to me many times in years past, but I have found that the further I travel on this road of interpreting my own dreams, the fewer scary dreams I have. Yet I have had my share of difficult or even annoying dreams, and they are a part of what has led me to interpret my dreams to find their meaning.

To begin a dream interpretation, I read the dream start to finish once through. Then I go back to any part which seemed to carry the basic seed of the dream to get the feel for what is being emotionally expressed by the dream. If I can determine that, I think the interpretation is well on the way. It is only a matter then, of transposing the real life emotions with those in the dream which will reveal the meaning. As an example, let's say a dream is about seeing a friend who in your dream seems taller than they actually are in life. In the dream, you literally look up to that person... which could be thought of as a metaphor for respecting their view and opinions. The emotional quality in this example then, is that RESPECT which is being conveyed.

Let's say though that you have a nightmare about being chased by some large animal. Your emotion is of course, fear. If you have had such a dream, you might think about what in your life could happen that would cause that kind of fear. Many times these chasing dreams are symbols for not wanting to have to face certain situations and we in effect, run away from them. Sometimes in dreams, through mental telepathy that we might not even believe in, we know what's coming our way, like a break up of a relationship. One nightmare I had was of laying next to my girlfriend and a huge bomb exploded blowing me off the bed.. but curiously she was still there.. I could see her there as I was blown away. That dream came true though, but no bomb outside went off.. she dropped the bomb when she told me that it was over between us, and I sure was "blown away"!

Dream interpretation often can have puns in it too. Like in the above example an explosion blew me out of the bed. Her telling me it was over certainly "blew me away" too! I also had a dream that there was a rat in my bedroom.. and that "dirty rat" was also her! Dreams can have a sense of humor like that, while at the same time expressing the feelings the dreamer has. Frankly, for all we had been through and been for each other, I felt she was a rat for leaving me!

Dreams can also have valid meanings on several different levels at once. The above dream shows many levels. The first is that I was "blown out of bed". This was a literal symbol for the relationship ending. Another level is that it was explosive, meaning it would carry a lot of emotion for me and would happen quickly and without warning, which it did. Yet another level is that the dream showed her as unaffected, which was also the case. She was not nearly as emotionally affected as I was. The explosion seemed to come from outside. This was because I could not come to terms with her wanting to end the relationship, so I pictured the "real reason" as being "outside of our connection together" so in the dream the explosion seemed to come from outside. Yet there is another meaning for this too. She began her next relationship with a friend of mine, and so part of the reason she left me WAS outside of our relationship, and explains in part why she was not as affected by our breakup as I was.

I hope you can see here how personal dream interpretation is, and how well chosen dream symbols are. Dreams and their interpretation take us to the core of our own experience of life and are the most intimate and private part of our experience. Therefore it is not always easy to tell others our dreams because they reveal our true nature and our motivations, though some of those motivations may not be as glamorous as we would hope they would be. This deeper level of dream interpretation is not for the light hearted nor for those who are not interested in making a serious study of themselves. This kind of study requires honesty and candidness and a coming to terms with both the noble and profane parts of ourselves.

A great many people do not believe in past lives, yet some dreams will always defy interpretation by those who do not believe in them. The study of my own dreams leads me to conclude that no other explanation is possible for the wealth of information I have experienced and viewed from the dream perspective. I am not particularly an historian, though I know a little about various parts of civilizations past. My dreams do not usually include historic events per se in terms of the kind of history one would study in books, but instead reflects personal experience from the point of view of other environments and times in a very personal manner... what a typical individual of such and such a time might have experienced in day to day life. Very rarely indeed are any historical details included which would be worthy of a newscasters report. The reason for these dreams is almost always because a part of that life's issues are being reflected again in this life, whether through a moral issue, a life problem, a friendship that was active also in that other life, or the many other links that could bring about the memory recall.

I have also experienced dying in a great many dreams and in a great variety of ways; some quite pleasant and some very very unpleasant. I understand that many people would interpret these scenes as representing the death of various phases of my current lifes activities, and to this I can agree to a certain point. It is often fair to say that death in a dream indicates sudden change and not necessarily physical death of the person shown as dying. Yet I personally am not satisfied with that in all cases and believe that we are shown scenes from former lives.

Dreams are the language of the unconscious mind. They are composed of symbols and metaphors, a language of pictures and emotions instead of words and phrases.
