Tips for your family:
NOTF asks that all new clients contact us at least one week before your family's first nanny placement, if possible. If it is not possible to do so, please contact us as soon as you know that you will need our services. This will allow us to take care of all necessary paperwork while ensuring a more precise fit for your family.

When a nanny is new to your home and children, we encourage you to allow at least 15 minutes of transition time to go over all information the nanny will need to effectively care for your children while you are away from home.

Make sure to leave emergency contact information. Prominently display your home address and phone number by all telephones. Include information on how to reach police and fire departments, poison control center and your pediatrician.

Where will you be? Leave location and phone number of your destination as well as car/cell/pager numbers.

In case you cannot be reached, leave the name and phone number of a close relative or neighbor who could help out in an emergency.

Review any special needs or circumstances with the nanny. Is anyone on medication? Are there any allergies? Are there any behavior issues? Does a child require a special comfort object?

What household rules or routines are important for the nanny to know? Is TV allowed? How much or what shows/channels? Is bedtime strict or flexible? Is food limited to certain areas of the home? What snacks are okay? Do school-aged children require any homework supervision?

By keeping these things in mind and the afformentioned information available, we can be sure both your family and our nanny have great experiences!
