Rungs From the Chair
Janice Elvidge, CILH Section Chair
Spring 1999

Spring is just around the corner. And so is the Region 2/CILH workshop in Pipestem, West Virginia. This is the first venture by our "new" group. The program looks very exciting. Diane Pawling has been coordinating that joint workshop, and has done a splendid job! I wish I could be there. But due to the distance, I won't be able to.

The future for our section includes a pre-workshop session at the National Workshop in Syracuse, New York and our own section workshop tentatively scheduled for St. Louis in either 2000 or 2001. The word from that region is that it is a great location for fall workshops. Region 6 is also interested in a joint venture at some point. More details on that venture will be forthcoming.

This section has a lot of projects coming up. We need the involvement of our membership to make these truly section activities. If you don't know exactly how you can help, volunteer anyhow -- we can always use additional heads and hands! The projects we have done so far have been wonderful learning experiences for me as both an interpreter and as an officer. I would like to encourage all our membership to get involved in these ventures.
