Description
|
- Avoid sending or posting flames (angry, critical messages)
|
- Be nice. Never flame or rant in a public forum. Show
respect fot the opinions of others. Avoid saying anything negative
about others even if you don't agree.

- It's equal to shouting or screaming.
- SHOUTING REFER TO TYPING ONLINE POSTING USING CAPITAL
LETTERS. Use capital letters only when it is grammatically correct to
do so or for emphasizing a few words.

- Things that you say or write online can be interpreted as being racist or in just general bad taste.
|
|
- Don't send message that include content that you would not want shared with others.
|
|
- Don't give out personal information - such as your real
name, telephone number or credit card information - to people you meet
online.

- Never read someone's private e-mail

- Never lean over someone else's shoulder to read something unless invited.
- Never go through anyone else's personal belongings.
|
|
- Never copy someone else's work and post it as your own. It is against copyright law because it is considered stealing.

- Cite others' work you use

- It is always a good idea to ask permission before quoting
anyone, but that isn't always possible. If you want to quote someone,
keep the quote short, cite the source and put a link to the complete
written work.

- Clearly identify a spoiler which is a message that reveals a solution to game or ending to a movie or program

- Read the FAQ (frequently asked questions), if the one exists. Many newsgroup and Web pages have an FAQ
|
|
- Do not assume material is accurate or up to date. Be forgiving of others' mistake
