| On June 11, 1956 the state of Alabama set forth a law that legally banned the NAACP from this state. Many years later you and I have the right and the opportunity to be apart of the NAACP through the local branch and now through the University of Alabama at Birmingham Chapter. Membership is the very lifeblood of the NAACP. Millions of people have committed to the struggle for civil rights by joining the NAACP. Their fight for justice and equality has fueled our past. We are the foundation upon which the NAACP at UAB's future will be based. We encourage all to join us in the fight for civil and social justice!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
