Amateur Communications Emergency Services Homepage

serving Eastern North Carolina.

Mission: Provide emergency and disaster communications that support survival and recovery plans. Provide fixed and mobile communications that support the disaster preparedness program(s). Provide voice and point-to-point data communications that support emergency (disaster) plans.

Objective: ACES will provide communications support for Emergency/Disaster operations in the Region as required by the situation and directed by ACES Officials. ACES will also: (a) Provide auxiliary communications for civilian and governmental/military officials during emergencies,( b) Provide primary or backup communications for emergency amateur disaster/emergency response agencies, including but not limited to ARES; RACES; NTS; FEMA; SKYWARN; local, regional, and state CIVIL DEFENSE/EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCIES, (c)Provide National Traffic System (NTS) Reports, Military Affiliate Radio Service (MARS) Reports, and Essential Elements of Information (EEI) Reports and SPOT Reports to appropriate Emergency Management and Emergency Response Agencies.
