Panda
Adopting Qing Qing, the only panda to be adopted by Singaporeans.

The very first mission of the 5 youths was to find the "Living Fossil" of China, which they found out to be the Panda.

They made their way to the Wolong Panda Nature Preservation District, which houses 40-50 pandas. The Panda is an endangered animal, and there are only about 1000 left in the world.

The Preservation District requires a lot of funds to support these pandas. They are also involved in research to multiply the pandas. They may also try out with feeding the panda with viagra and even cloning the pandas in the future.

Close contact with the adorable panda.

Be careful. Panda are also carnivorous.
Most of the pandas were adopted by foreign countries, like USA, Japan etc, but none from Singapore.

The Youth Quest Production Team decided to adopt a panda. However, they needed 8000 yuan, which was about $1600 Sing dollars.

The 5 youths then performed, sang and begged tourists to donate. They sang all kinds of songs which included Chinese folk songs, Singapore songs, and "If we hold on together".
The tourists and locals were generous with their donation, but the amount was still far from the target of 8000 yuan.

Finally, the youths persuaded the production crew to donate too. The youths also gave up their daily pocket money for 200 yuan.

They finally raised enough money after a day. They named the panda "Qing Qing", which meant "Forever Youth". It represented the enegy and spirit of Singaporean youths.

Qing Qing is currently the only panda to be adopted by Singaporeans
