King Arthur

Most of the information on King Arthur is derived from legends and folklore. Today the Arthurian Legends have been polluted by Hollywood Glamour.
King Arthur is only classified under mysticism because of his association with Merlin the Magician.
King Arthur is was born the illegitimate son of Uther PenDragon and Lady Yguerne. The legend states that Uther fathered his heir under a magical spell of Merlin . The spell in which Merlin used to disguised Uther is the called Dragon's Breath (spell of creating)
.
Long before Uther's death he received a gift from one of the mystics. The Sword Excalibur was given to him from the Lady of the Lake of Avalon. The Lady of the Lake does not live on an isle, she actually lives in the lake's waters Before his passing , Uther thrust Excalibur into a rock. Hence the name "sword in the stone" came about.

Merlin told the people only the rightful king shall be able to pull the sward from the stone. Arthur at this time was just a baby. As the years passed many tried to pull the stone from the stone but all failed . On one tournament where the young squire named Arthur was in attendance Arthur forgetting his Sir Kaye's sword goes to the stone and pulls the sword from the stone.
As the story goes the young king was pulled into direct guidance of Merlin. The Great Magician as Merlin tended to be was solely responsible for for the following events in Arthur's Life.
Arthur being Born
Pulling the sword from the stone
Marrying Gwenievere
The Battle between him and Mordred
The proof that King Arthur existed
Below is where the bodies of King Arthur and Guienivere lay after the monks moved them here from when they were originally discovered in 1191 after a devistating fire to the Abbey. King Henry II sent funds to help with the rebuilding. During the excavation for the new abbey the monks found in a deep tomb a large oak casket. Inside were the remains of a well decomposed very large man and a woman with long blonde hair, which according to witnesses of the time crumbled upon handling, also found with the bodies was this leaden cross with the inscription shown below. It is written in an ancient latin calligraphy that predates the 12th century by quite a bit. It reads:"Here lies buried the famous King Arthur, on the Isle of Avalon."
