When most people  think of the mystical realm they begin to think of  faeries and unicorns.  There is more than just the images of these creatures.

As far back as biblical times there are many references to the mystical realm.  Unicorns, angels and  dragons are all based on the Christian beliefs.

Unicorns are described as being a virginal white creature with a golden horn.  There is one known painting of Alexander the Great housed in the Louvre in Paris

This picture is of him riding his famous white horse.  Historians believe that this horse was a unicorn.

All throughout history the legendary  unicorn is mention rather it is in folklore, mythology or even the Bible.

The first known reference of the unicorn is found in the Bible.

Psalm 29:6

"he maketh  them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn."

This is also in the Bible

Psalms 92:10

"But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall  be anointed with fresh oil."

Since both of these passage are after the flood in Genesis we can correctly state that they were present on the ark.

In folklore the unicorn is always ridden by a virgin.  Only the innocent can ride the magical creature.

In mythology the unicorn was born from the salt waters.

This picture is believe to be real it is found in the book Unicorns I Have Known.  Published in 1989.
