I cannot cry
Though the pain pierces my very soul.
There's too much to be done.
Too many others' pain is in their own house.
Help Them!
Help those who can't bear the pain of the carnage.
When the work is done I will cry in my own hell.
The hell forged from images of death and destruction,
I WILL NEVER FORGET!!!
I must say, I'm sorry, but I can never forgive these men.
Forgiveness lies in greater hands than mine.
I can never forgive these men because
ALL the people who have gone into and around the Murrah building,
and all the people who lost loved ones
Will pay the price of their insanity.
The visions of their actions will burn
in our hearts and minds forever!
For we cannot forget.
It's Saturday night, day 4.
I feel so empty and cold.
The cold goes all the way to the bone.
There must be more I can do.
Is there more I should have done?
I'm so tired, and although I sleep (some), I get no rest.
I doubt if I'll EVER sleep peacefully again!
Will my children be safe?
Can I shield them (God, protect them)
From the nightmares of sociopaths??
For even in my sleep, I CANNOT FORGET.
It's been 11 days now and still I can't watch the news,
or read the newspapers.
The emotions of America - no, the World - are too strong
And the pains of my soul and mind's eye are so deep.
Am I the only one who feels this way?
NO! I see and hear as the whole World cries,
And I realize I'M NOT ALONE!
I have truly come to understand
"United we stand, divided we fall"
The pain of this atrocity has somehow
United the world!!!
We weren't black, white, Indian, Russian,
German, Irish, British, Catholic, Baptist, Jewish,
male, female, etc...
No, for on brief moment in time
We were people United in a deep pain and sorrow..
Is this somehow a seedling for a new
Understanding of love and respect
For mankind?
For this sorrow knew no boundaries...
I don't know if this slaughter of innocence
Will have such a profound Effect on humanity;
Only time will tell......
As for me,
I'm just a troubled soul who cries out in the night,
"God, wake me from this nightmare,"
Only to find I'm not asleep.....
I must say here and now that I want to
Thank all the heroes.
ALL the people who went into and around
The murrah Building:
The Red Cross, The Salvation army, Feed The
Children, FEMA, FBI, DEA, ATFA, Medical
personnel, Firefighters, Police, Volunteers,
the Rescue dogs, John Doe off the street, the
list goes on and on.
But most of all I want to thank YOU AMERICA,
You too are heroes!
For if it weren't for your overwhelming response of
Love and support, the job to be done
Would have been much more difficult!
We showed the World that we truly are
"One nation, under God, Indivisible with Liberty
And Justice for all." UNITED WE STOOD!!!
And this nightmare shall only strengthen
The bonds of a compassionate and giving Nation.
That is one of the so many reasons why I am
"PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN"
Again let em say: "Thank You , America"!!!
AND KNOW WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!
