Steps for taking the Examination 

Step 1 : PMI Membership

Both PMI Members and Non-members can apply for the examination. 

Exam fee for Members - $ 405.00

Exam fee for Non-members - $ 555.00

Cost for becoming a PMI Member - $ 115.00 + $ 10.00 (for new members) + fees for chapter memberships and Special Interest Group Memberships (ranges based on which group you want to join)

Being a member will cost less on the Certification exam fee and as member you will also receive a lot of benefits in terms of News letters, Journals etc from PMI.

Click here to Visit PMI Membership Link. You can apply on-line or mail in your download your membership application and mail the same to PMI. In both the case you will get your PMI membership number and your membership certificate will be mailed to you.

Step 2  - Prepare your Resume 

Once you submit your membership application you can now start the resume preparation process. This is one of the time consuming activities. Although PMI accepts a current business resume it is advisable to prepare a resume in the format suggested by PMI. (Resume format as found in PMI web Site). Click for resume preparation tips 

Step 3 - Complete your Exam Application

Your exam application can be downloaded from PMI web site.  Print multiple copies of the Experience verification forms. For details on filling the application click Application preparation tips 

Step 4 - Mail in your completed Application with Exam fee and wait for approval

Step 5 - After completion of Step 3 Start preparing for your test

Step 6 - Schedule your Exam
