�A semi-legal immigrant, Apu runs the Springfield Kwik-E-Mart just down the street from the Simpson's household for as long as anyone could remember. Sells the Kwik-E-Mart mainstay, the 'squishy' and other 'delectable' such as greasy hotdogs and micro waved day old pies, although as a vegan, he doesn't touch them. He also pretends that he can't speak English to non-regulars so that they won't be able to ask him to fill up their petrol, and do it themselves. He lives with his wife, Sita and his mother.

If Apu is all about niceties, Moe is, well, Moe. As the proprietor of Moe's Tavern, he is well acquainted with Homer and Barney. Although there is hardly anyone other than the few regulars, Moe's Tavern keeps going strong. A few people believe that Moe is living not so much from his bar, but from the remnant royalty he gets from his days as a child actor in a TV show. Moe also created the 'Flaming Moe' a cocktail recipe which he actually stole from Homer. Moe had dabbled in many, well, shady businesses shall we say? which includes being a bootlegger and also an entrepreneur of sorts. He also tried to change Moe's Tavern into a family restaurant. Needless to say all were in vain and Moe continued running the bar.
