Where can you buy Tiberian Sun?
Tiberian Sun is the first game ever to be released worldwide.
Who developed C&C2 Tiberian Sun?
The creators of Tiberian Sun are the creators of the original RTS that shocked
the world (Command & Conquer), Westwood Studios. Westwood Studios used
to be a branch of Virgin Interactive, but where bought by Electronic Arts in 1998.
How many factions does Tiberian Sun contain?
There are two playable factions in Tiberian Sun, the Global Defense Initiative or GDI
and Nod. The conflict between those sides is continued from the original
Command & Conquer. Tiberian Sun has a third faction, called the "Forgotten",
but it's unfortunately not playable.
What can be expected from Tiberian Sun?
Unlike previous C&C games, Tiberian Sun will totally be 3D with special
light effects. The game will contain many new units, structures, and alot more
that will definitely increase the playfun. The story of Tiberian Sun will
take place 20 years later than C&C Tiberian Dawn. After Kane's supposed death,
Nod has broken up into several parties, each claiming to be the real brotherhood.
GDI evacuated the world's population to the Antarctic areas, where Tiberian
infestation has slowed down. For safety reasons, GDI aslo send their best
scientists to the command space station, called Philadelphia. Nod uses guerilla warfare and
and stealth tactics, while GDI uses just brute force.
As well as time of day variations, Tiberian Sun will also have weather effects.
At night, you will need search lights for safety reasons. These lights will
constantely move across the ground until an enemy unit is spotted. It will follow
that unit until it goes out of range. Usually, attacking units will only see
the searchlight of the base until they get close enough to see more. At night,
units have only half of their normal vision range. As already mentioned above,
Tiberian Sun will have weather variations, such as rain and snow, as well as
ion storms and meteor showers. Ion storms cause lightning, which may destroy
units, temporarily disable high technilogically advanced units, or even start forest
fires, which may be spread through wind (also a new feature). It is also possible
for a meteor storm to spawn Tiberium vines, which will eventually clutter
your base, destroy your vehicles (except Harvester), and mutate your infantry
into your enemy unless you destroy its mouth in the center (hint: it takes a lot of force and
time). These new features will give you the oppurtunity to fight wars with tactics and strategy rather
than with brute force.
Does the Tiberium have any effect on any unit or structure?
Yes, if infantry are exposed to tiberium, they will lose their health until
they die. The infantry actually does not really die, they mutate into enemy creatures with medium strength and high speed.
Can power be manually switched off and on to individual structures?
Yes, unlike previous C&C games, the power to structures can now be switched off and on. For example,
if your enemy has just destroyed two of your power plants, you could turn off
your Construction Yard and your Barracks, for instance, in order to redirect
power to more essential structures, such as turrets, SAM sites, Obelisk of Light, Laser, etc.
Who are the Forgotten?
The Forgotten is a race that was created by the Nod on purpose through tiberium mutation
to design the ultimate killing machine. After the experimantations were shown
to unsuccessfully, the new created race was abandonded by the Nod. They were also neglegted by the GDI.
They aren't loyal to neither Nod nor GDI. Yet, they will work temporarily with one and only one player, who has the supplies
they want (weapons, medical surplies, etc.). There are only three different types
of Forgotten units, who are all infantry.
