They're your typical 15 year olds getting ready for high school exams. One day they both visit the National library when they discover an old Chinese book - The Universe of the Four Gods. When they open it, they are suddenly sucked into a mysterious red light. They appear in an ancient Chinese town (in the book) where they are then saved from slavers by a man with the character "ogre" on his forehead. Yui suddenly disappears into the same red light and ends up back in the library where she begins to read what happens to Miaka...
And so the story begins about Suzaku no Miko. Where she must find the 7 seishi of Suzaku to make her dreams come true.
