Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Awwwww I like this display ... not sure if its cos I keep taking the tadpoles home .. Im going to be sorry when they grow and I have to let them go ... how daft am I?

Our Topic which this display fell into was Growing. We looked at the Life Cycle of a Frog.

1. The children did many activities relating to this, such as
2. making tadpoles out of paper mache,
3. making frogs out of found materials,
4. ordering the life cycle
5. ICT (I created a Textease file so children fill a pond with frogs, tadpoles and frog spawn ... which was quite easy to do as all the pictures where there already)

Topic - People who help us

This display was certainly a great feature of the room. The colours made it stand out

1. The children drew pictures of fire engines
2. Our border was made of pictures of firemen
3. The fire had hand prints for extra effect

As with all my displays I try and make them as Interactive as possible, so on a shelf by the display was a range of books related to firemen / engines, toy fire engines and firemen.

Autumn Display

The children collected a range of leaves from around the school and stuck them on to pieces of card.

To make the collage shine they painted over them with PVA glue.

The photographs below shows a display with a selection of activites relating to autumn.

Children made painted hand prints to create leaves, used a range of materials to decorate different animals.

Conkers, cones and other objects were collect - the children used these to help them count to 10 and beyond.

Noah's Ark

The children had a lot of fun creating the paintings for this display.

I wish I could take all the credit for this display, but I can't!!!! The idea was taken from a display book.

We added lots of other activities to further the children's understanding of Noah's Ark.

1. Animal jigsaws
2. Animal Masks
3. Noah boat which has cut out animal
figures to place on the Ark
4. A range of Noah's Ark Books
On The Farm

Our topic was growing so we looked at animals on a farm. The children learnt all about the names given to animals and their young.

Under the display were a range of games, books, farm animals, farm yard barn.
