Two weeks later everyone was in the cafe Amber had arranged a meeting.
"We need to arrange a group to go out and find some food I'm going and I need some volunteers." Amber explained looking at the cluster of Mall Rats.
"I'll come!" Dal volunteered.
"I'll come two." Alice said looking up from talking to Ellie.
"So will I!" Bray volunteered he used any excuse he could to be around Amber.
"What about you Lex? Ebony?" Amber asked staring at the two of them who weren't paying much attention to her.
"I've got to stay with Tai-San." Lex said with a grin on his face.
"Ill be fine Lex you go."
"Then that settles that Lex your coming." Amber said quickly not giving him a chance to find another excuse.
"What about you Ebony?"
"I'm helping Jack with security." Ebony answered.
"Okay then we leave in 10 minuets come straight back here bring a rucksack if you have one if not bring any bag you can find. Any questions? Good."
Ellie strolled into Jacks room. He was looking at and old engine.
"Hi Ellie." He said looking briefly up at her.
"What are you doing Jack?"
"I'm trying to see if this engine has any parts that work that I could use. Did you want something?"
"Yes have you seen Dal?"
"No! Why?"
"He asked me if I had a book on rear plants and I found one." Ellie explained as she lightly kissed Jack and left.
"Where is everyone?" Alice asked looking at Amber and Bray.
"I don't know." Bray replied not taking his eyes off Amber's long blond hair that was swaying softly down her back.
"Sorry I'm late!" Dal apologised as he strolled in the room
"It's okay, where's Lex?"
"He's not coming he volunteered to help Jack and Ebony." Dal replied.
"Typical, let's go." Amber said lifting a small green rucksack off the ground.
As they arrived out side of the sewers they decided they could cover more ground if they split up.
"Amber, Bray you go Left and me and Dal will go this way we will meet back at the sewers when were done if your not back in at least 3 days then we will go back to the mall and get the search party out." Alice ordered arranging the small group.
"Be careful!" Amber said as she watched Dal and Alice head down a long street.
PART 15:
Amber walked beside Bray she was glad they were alone they needed to talk. .
"There's a wear house over there it might have something we could use do you think we should check it out Amber?" Bray asked turning to face her.
"It might be worth it lets go!" Bray entered the building first she pared around the corner when Bray didn't signal to say it was safe. Amber watched four girls surrounding Bray Amber quickly rushed in to the huge warehouse.
"Who are you? What do you want?" A young girl with short wavy brown hair asked.
"I'm Amber that's Bray were looking for some food and thought there might be some here." Amber explained.
"Well as you can see there isn't so Amber is it leave now!"
"Not with out Bray." Amber said starring at the oldest of the four girls.
"What tribe are you with?"
"The Mall Rats." Amber said with a look on her face that said you touch him and you die .
"If looks could kill then we'd be dead now." The young brown hared girl remarked. The oldest girl nodded and the others let Bray go.
"I'm Jenny these are my sisters, I'm the oldest then the twins Tara and Debby and that's the youngest Leah ." Jenny a tall strawberry blond girl introduced her two identical red hared sisters and the short brown hair girl.
"We don't have much food and it's getting dark." Bray said looking at Amber.
"You can stay here tonight if you want." Jenny offered kindly. Amber looked at Bray who smiled at her which maid her knees feel like jelly.
"We'd like that tank you, What tribe are you with?" Amber asked trying to rid her mind of Bray's worm smile.
"We're not they scare us we stay clear of most tribes." Leah explained as Amber studied her she guessed she must be around Dal's age and his height. Jenny was tall UN like Leah she had long straw berry blond hair and was around Amber's age. The twins were identical, They had short red hair and hazel eyes they were a only a year younger than Jenny and the only way to tell the two apart was Debby had two blond whispers at the front of her glorious red hair.
"We split the wear house into 5 rooms you and Bray can share, there's 2 beds." Tara said seeing the expression on Amber's face when she said she had to share with Bray. Tara was pretty sure there's was something between them but she didn't know what.
"Okay thanks." Amber smiled she was so tiered she'd agree to anything.
Amber watched as the two twins stood up
"Night everyone." They announced together.
"Night!" They all said together.
"I think I ,might call it a night two we have a busy day a head of us tomorrow." Bray said suddenly.
"I'll show you where you're sleeping." Leah offered. Jenny waited until they were alone before she turned to Amber.
"Amber are you and Bray an item?" Jenny asked she'd been talking to Tara earlier about the two strangers.
"We used to something happened between us and we split up." Amber said fiddling with the buttons on her jacket.
"Do you want to talk about it? It always helps when I have a problem." Jenny listened as Amber told her what had happened with Danni and the baby.
"It sounds to me like you still love each other but your afraid if you get to close to Bray something will happen and you will end up getting hurt. Amber think about it for a minuet if you live your live being afraid you'll regret it and you will wonder what could have been. But if you take a chance
with Bray then you could be really happy. I made that mistake once I was in love with a guy at my school my best friend I never told anyone. I was afraid of loosing him if I told him then I did, he went out one night and he was killed he was stabbed. The thing was maybe just maybe if we'd have been together he'd still be alive now it was the biggest mistake of my life. Just think about what I said." Jenny said and went to her room.
Part 16:
Amber tossed and turned she thought about what Jenny had said about Bray . It was hard for Amber to think about sleeping when Bray was in the bed next to her she desperately wanted Bray to hold her in his arms and feel his worm breath on her neck. Amber must have fell asleep because when she woke up Bray wasn't in his bed she got up and went to the back room were everyone spent
most of there time .
"Morning Amber!" Jenny smiled up at her.
"Morning where's everyone?" Amber asked looking around the almost empty room.
"The twins have gone to the river to get water and Leah's cooking breakfast."
"Where's Bray?" Amber asked sounding really worried.
"He went to help the twins carry the water he'll be back in a few minutes." Amber smiled relieved.
"You love him don't you?" Amber hesitated for a minuet and said
"Yes I do I always have and always will."
"Did you think about what I said?" Jenny asked curiously.
"Yes!"
"And what have you decided?"
"I'm going to tell him, that I want us to get back together."
"That's great, when?"
"Tonight if we get back to the Mall if not when we do get back." Amber and Jenny were interrupted by Tara running in.
"Tara what's wrong?" Jenny asked as she looked at her sister who was gasping to catch her breath.
"We were attacked by the dingo's."
"Where's Bray?" Amber asked concerned.
"He and Debby were being chased we ran in the woods and got split up I don't know what happened to them."
"Bray, I have to find him!" Amber said as she stood up and headed to the door. Jenny stood blocking her way.
"It's to dangerous, Bray wouldn't want you to put your own life in danger he'd want you to be safe! We have to wait and hope they make it back ." Amber ran to her room crying, all she could think is what would she do if something had happened to him and how much she loves him.
"Dal over here!" Alice signalled to him.
"What is it Alice?"
"This shed is full of food ." Alice said as she went inside first Dal followed .
"Lets fill our bags up and get out of here." Dal said uneasy.
"Okay Dal." They filled there bags up and started to head for the mall when they saw the Dingo's running after them.
"Alice run!" Dal yelled he arrived back at the Mall and went straight to the caf�. Where the Mall Rats were sitting having there breakfast..
"Dal where's Alice?" Ellie asked looking behind him for her sister.
"I'm sorry, Ellie she's dead." Dal said not knowing any other way of telling her. He watched as Ellie ran off crying Jack quickly went after her.
"Are you sure Dal?" Tai-San asked disbelieving what she'd been told.
"Yes she's dead I saw them kill her."
"Who Dal?"
"That new tribe the Dingo's they chased us before they killed Alice one of them said she's a Mall Rat. And there leader said were on our way to take over the Mall Rats. We'll go tomorrow a surprise attack." Every one was shocked. Lex prepared the mall for an attack.
"Amber come Quick!" Leah shouted. Bray stood at the door Amber ran to him and flew her arms loosely around his strong shoulders. Debby was in the other room on the floor she was dead and Tara
had been badly hurt. She had been unconscious Just after she told Amber what happened.
PART 17:
Jenny stood around the blazing fire. She said how much she loved Debby and how much she would be missed. Leah stood next to her crying, Tara was still unconscious and they weren't sure if she was going to last the rest of the day.
"We should get back Jenny." Amber said. Bray had stayed at the wear house with Tara.
When Amber and the others returned Tara was awake.
"How is she Bray?" Amber asked curiously.
"She's fine, I haven't told her about Debby. I thought it would be better coming from one of you" Bray explained.
"I will." Jenny said realising it wasn't fair on Leah to tell her.
"Tara, Debby didn't make it." Jenny repeated her sister was obviously in shook. She watched as tears rolled down her face.
"No, she had to she was the fastest runner out of all of us she had to have survived."
"She wasn't fast enough there's nothing we can do."
Jenny walked back in to the room where Bray and Amber sat nearlly an hour later Tara had cried her self to sleep.
"Jenny we're going back to the mall tonight and we wont you, Tara and Leah to come, It's a lot safer than here and I'm sure you'd like it there." Amber offered knowing that staying here would only be a constant reminder to them.
"I'd love to come but I've got to ask the others first." Jenny answered grateful for the offer.
PART 18:
Jenny gathered everyone in the back room. She began.
"Amber and Bray have asked us to go back to the mall with them And I've decided we should vote! So if you think we should go raise your hand." Leah and Jenny raised there hands. But Tara didn't. Tara stood up.
"I've decided to go away and try and find a better place than here!" Tara announced.
"Are you sure Tara?" Jenny asked looking at her sister.
"Yes I'm sure, me and Debby always planned to leave but never did, and now she's gone I think it's best that I go." Tara smiled down at her sister.
"Were leaving tonight! When are you going?"
"The same time as you I packed just after you told me that Debby had died." Tara announced.
" Dal, Jack you operate the gates, Ellie ,Patsy you're on the balcony, Kc, Chloe your going to be hidden in the lift!"
"Why Lex?" Kc asked he hated the lift and wanted to be fighting with the others.
"You're not allowed to leave the lift just in case anything happened, like last time when Tribe Circus invaded the mall you two would be the best chance we've got to get out, Ryan, Ebony you're fighting downstairs with me." Lex explained checking everyone new what they were doing.
"What about Tai-San, Trudy, Salene and the two baby's?" Ryan asked standing next to his wife.
"They will be barricaded in Trudy's room. And the food will be hidden under the floor boards in Jack's room, any heavy things you can lift put on the balcony. Any Questions? Good! Then get to work." Lex ordered.
Everybody met up at the entrance of the wear house an hour later
"Is everyone ready?" Jenny asked looked at her two sisters then Amber and Bray.
"Yeah!"
"Bye Jenny, Leah, Amber and Bray." Tara said as she hugged her two sisters. Leah had a picture of Debby, Jenny, Tara, herself and there parents she gave a copy to Tara and a copy to Jenny she said "This is so we never forget." Tara smiled at her young sister.
When Amber and the others arrived at the mall Lex nearly hit Bray.
"What's going on?" Amber asked looking at the Mall Rats.
"Dal heard the Dingo's say they were going to attack tomorrow we thought they must have come early." Lex explained.
Everyone went to the cafe.
"Amber who are they?" Jack asked looking at the two girls.
"This is Jenny and Leah, I've asked them to join us and I've explained we have to vote.!
"Where's Alice?" Bray asked Ellie started to cry
"She's dead!" Lex said.
"We best vote now before the tribe attack." Leah started crying at the reminder of Debby.
"Why is she crying?" Lex asked confused.
"Her sister was killed earlier today by the dingo's." Amber explained.
"We should vote now. So is there anyone who votes against?"
PART 19:
""Who's for?" Everybody raised there hands.
"Then it's settled." Amber said looking at the Mall Rats.
"Welcome to the Mall." Tai-San said. A shocked expression suddenly appeared on Tai-San's face.
"What's wrong Tai-San?" Amber asked rushing over to her.
"My waters have broken."
"I'm going to be a dad." Lex yelled.
"Shut up Lex! Do you want the Dingo's to come early? Bray, Trudy, Lex help me get Tai-San to her bedroom."
"Can I help?" Jenny asked. "My mum used to be a nurse and I know what to do!" She explained.
"Is that all right Tai-San?" Amber asked looking at her.
"Yes fine." Tai-San said gritting her teeth.
"Follow us!"
Amber and Bray lay Tai-San on her bed. It was 1 o'clock in the morning. Amber was really tired
"Bray, Amber why don't you go and make sure everyone gets some rest and check the security." Jenny said knowing that Amber wanted to talk to Bray.
"Okay we'll get back as soon as we can!"
"Amber!"
"Yeah!"
"Will you check on Leah for me?" Jenny asked realising it was her first night in a strange place.
"Of course I will, You and Leah are sleeping in the designs room!"
"Okay thanks Amber."
PART 20:
All the other Mall Rats went to bed to try and get some sleep. There were just a few people with Tai-San and Amber and Bray were checking the mall. It was now 7 in the morning Tai-San was worn out and the baby wasn't coming for at least another hour.
"Amber we best check the sewers." Bray suggested as he made sure the grid was sercure.
"Okay." Amber said exhausted. Amber said Bray could see she was tired.
Amber and Bray reached the dark sewers a few minutes later Amber clutched the torch firmly in her hands.
"Bray I need to talk to you!" Amber said nervously.
"What is it Amber?" Amber sat down on the steps to the sewers. Bray sat next to her.
"Bray, I love you and I thought about what happened and I want us to get back together. Do you still want us to get back together?" Amber asked staring at him.
"More than anything in the world!" Bray said taking her in his arms holding her tight against him he lent forward and softly kissed her. The alarms shattered there tender moment.
PART 21:
"QUICK EVERYONE GET INTO POSITION" Amber shouted as the Mall Rats arrived at the top of the stairs. As the Dingo's got closer to the door Tai-Sans screams got louder.
"Jenny!" Amber ran into Tai-Sans room
"We need you to help, Lex you can stay with Tai-San Ryan and Bray will cope, Salene, Trudy can you manage?"
"Yes Brady and Gemma are asleep if we need you we'll get you."
"Okay We're going to barricade you in." Amber and Jenny ran out of the room and Lex barricaded them in.
The door burst open and the Dingo's came flying in.
PART 22:
Bray, Ebony, Ryan and Dal were at the bottom of the stairs fighting with the Dingo's. The leader was fighting Bray. Bray hit the leader and he fell over he hit his head, one of his tribe ran over to him. "He's dead!" The Dingo shouted. The tribe's stopped fighting and the Dingo's ran to there leader. They started to attack. All the Mall Rats ran upstairs they'd put tables at the top of the stairs. Everyone ran behind them.
The Dingoes ran past and started fighting. Amber got pushed over by one of the Dingo's
"You are going to pay for what your tribe's done to our leader!" The member who was called Dodge said to Amber. Amber couldn't move she'd twisted her ankle. He was about to stab her with a dagger. Bray saw and hit the person he was fighting in the chest. Then he ran to Amber he hit Dodge and pushed him to the ground. Jack was being punched in the stomach Ellie hit the dingo with a fire extinguisher Dal and Leah were trying to get some of the Dingo's in a cage but Lea got knocked unconscious.
"Ellie, Jack quick help me get her to Tai-Sans room." They lifted her and put her in with Tai-San who was screaming really loud.
"Tai-San you're doing so well don't give up know!" Salene said. She had Gemma in her arms feeding her to keep her as quiet as she could.
"Come on Tai-San one more push." Trudy encouraged her.
"I can see the head Tai-San. One more push come on!"
"SCREAMS"
"Well done Tai-San you have a wonderful baby boy." Trudy wrapped the baby up and handed it Lex. Tai-San just lay back Exhausted Lex past Tai-San there son.
Salene bandaged Leah's head she was still unconscious but was fine she just had a few cuts and bruises from the fight. Jack stayed with Salene and the others his chest was badly bruised.
Amber couldn't move her ankle was swelling badly she quickly searched the room for Bray and saw he was fighting. Amber looked suddenly looked up standing in front of her was a tall figure. The figure was draped in a long, white cloak. Amber watched eagerly as the person removed her hood. Amber saw the persons face, her eyes grow wide filled with terror her face turned white as Danni stood in front of her a taunting smile on her wicked face. Amber screamed suddenly as her voice came back to her.
Bray's attention quickly turned to where Amber was. He saw the terror in his then he saw Danni standing above her, he suddenly felt afraid he began to rush to Amber when four guards stepped out in front of him blocking his path. .
"I'm going to do what I should have done before Amber!" Danni continued to grin she looked once towards Bray then back to Amber. "Make sure you die and not half finish the job like I did last time with your baby it's you and me a fight to the death. Who ever wins gets Bray but who ever loses will be dead and if they don't die straight away then they will be killed by a member of there own tribe." Danni ordered. Amber knew that Danni wouldn't fight fair she never had but what choice did she had. Amber quickly turned her head to Bray who was still being held back by the four guards.
"AMBER NO!" Bray yelled again seeing the helpless look on Amber's face.
"She doesn't have a choice!" Danni snapped at Bray she stared at the worry for Amber that was obvious only to look at him. No matter she thought he'll be mine and she'll be gone.
Danni rounded up all of the Mall Rats and put them into a guarded room. Kc and Cloe continued to hide in the lift they were relieved that the Dingo's hadn't noticed them on there brief search of the Mall. Surpassingly Danni had locked Amber and Bray in a room together. She stared at Bray who held Amber tightly against his chest.
"We start tomorrow!" Danni announced as she continued to stare desisted at the pair. "Say good bye Bray this is the last time you and her are going to be together so make the most of it!" Danni said harshly in a cruel voice and quickly exited the room. Amber pressed her head to Bray's chest and began to sob. Bray tightened his arms around her resting his chin on top of her blond hair.
Bray lay awake that night Amber's head pressed against he bare chest. What was he going to do? Amber was everything to him she was his wife the one person who he loved more than anything. He gently kissed her forehead. He couldn't lose her not again, not like this and not because of Danni.
