PEACE AT LAST
Alone in the room,
Dank, dreary, desolate.
From somewhere, a cry for help.
Where?
Ah, 'twas mine own voice,
Deceiving with desparation.
One long, last look,
Upon these walls.
Confinement, fear,
No longer.
'Tis the only way.
I feel it coming.
I'm choking, choking,
Despair encircling.
Help!
Trapped by its misery,
There is no escape.
Closer, closer,
Until it is finished,
And I am no more.
