It's the Why-Bird Stop!
welcome to MWR UK
MWR UK
MWR UK was set up in early 2002 by some of those who had been involved with MWR in the UK.  This decision recognised how disproportionately MWR had grown within the UK compared to the rest of the world.  The decision to set up a site for MWR UK is purely a practical one and in no way suggests that our commitment to internationalism has diminished.  MWR UK allows us to focus on campaigns that have a particular relevance for UK workers.  For
"MWR you are brilliant, I wish to god you had existed when I worked for McDonalds.  Please believe in yourselves and keep up the fight.  What you are doing is truly remarkable"-
Quote from a former McD's worker employed in the US in the late 60s and early 70s who tried to start a union.
"Zapatista like", "all conquering", "legendary"... MWR!

What the fuck are we going to do?
example, a campaign for 6.00 an hour means very little to workers in the US.  Everyone involved with MWR UK is also involved with international MWR.  MWR is not just a website, it is something that demands your active participation.  We need workers to get involved, to be commited and to be prepared to struggle for improvements in our conditions.  Every right we have has been won through struggle and this is how we must continue. Please don't just look at our website, agree with it, have a laugh and then go back to work obediently.  That's not the point.  It's about us recognising our collective power and realising that if we organise ourselves and work together we can move mountains.  McDonalds may be a big international company but we can also organise internationally, like on October 16th when McDonalds workers in France, England and Russia went on strike, when there were pickets in Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Slovakia and direct action in Scotland, USA, Canada... etc.  We organised that and it's just a taste of what is to come.  Not that it all has to be deadly serious, writing a funny article is involvement. So for fuck's sake, get involved! You will tell your grandchildren you were in MWR!               NEWS
