Domino Necklaces

These necklaces are made using domino game pieces. Each piece is hand stamped and colored using various types of permanent inks, then protected with a Verathane finish. Each necklace is uniquely hand beaded.

Polymer Clay Necklaces

These necklaces are made using Premo and Kato brand polymer clays, rubber stamps, Japanese Washi paper, wire and other items. Many newer pieces have polymer clay slide clasps.

Other Polymer Clay Pieces

These items were created using various polymer clay techniques.

This is a Perfume Pen. I purchased a commercial perfume pen kit and used gold Premo polymer clay and a rubber stamp to make a "mica shift" design in he clay. I then cut pieces to fit the brass pen fittings and glued the gold mica shift pieces to the fittings with Sobo glue (white glue). I baked the pieces in a toaster oven at 265 degrees for around 20 minutes. After the pieces cooled, I wet sanded them with 400 and 600 grit sandpaper and finished them with Flecto Varathane finish. I then put the pen kit together.

This is an unfinished Japanese Inro made from polymer clay. I created the box interior using black Kato Polyclay, covered it with gold Kato Polyclay and accented the rims with more black. I then created a Polaroid Emulsion lift and adhered it to the Inro. After letting the emulsion dry, I cut it at the join and coated the entire outer box with Flecto Verathane polyurathane varnish. I then glued some cording under the top and bottom rims to give more dimension to the piece. The image is from a Japanese Woodblock print (Ukiyo-e) housed in the Tokyo National Museum.

This Inro is made the same way as above. The image is also a Ukiyo-e print. Note that both of these boxes have not been transformed into Inro yet--I am awaiting my cording supply. I will drill through the top and bottom of the box, and possibly apply more polymer clay and other accents to the boxes. I am also contemplating creating Netsuke accents for the boxes. These are single-tier Inro. I'm working on creating multi-tier structures in true Japanese form.
