South Australia...
Outback, desert but also the Murray- and Torres river. Wineyards and sanddunes and the major city: Adelaide. One word? Relaxed. Where as people in Sydney tend to cramp up once every while, life in Adelaide is really layed back but not dull ...oh no.
The scenic views in South Australia are incredible and, apart from the heat wave I had to cope with, the beaches and wheater in general are ok. Main attractions are Barossa Valley, Murray River, Coolong National Park, Princess Highway and of course Kangaroo Island. But the coastline along the Peninsulars is also fantastic!

	Stay a week in Adelaide to experience this easy going community to the fullest. Check out the Rumble Mall, Hindley Street and if you like clubbing go to The Planet, Heaven, Cargo or shoot pool at Stix or Shooters. Take a car and drive around the Peninsular, so good. Kangaroo Island has great wildlife, swimming with dolphins (and your occasional shark), heaps of birds you normally see in cages like kakatoos and of course the kokaboara. But also the flora, sanddunes, beautiful beaches. TIP: don't go to Glenelg for the beach, maybe for the crowds, check out Henley Beach! The Murray river, although not looking very attractive with it's brown muddy coloured water, is the main source of life in this region and responsible for all the vertility around. On the water there is a lot going on to. Wakeboarding, waterskiing, sailing, surfing. Wicked! Driving through South Australia is seeing a movie being played from desert landscapes to lush rainforest, flat grasslands to hills and even mountains. A lot of diversity. The aboriginal historical presence and influence in this region is vivid and still very much alive today. There are numerous opportunities to investigate these native cultures. South Australia is also the place to see native animals. Loads of birds but also land animals as the emu, koalas, kangaroos, walibi's, wombats and even penguins, seals and pelicans. South Australia is very nice and it's not for nothing that this is the free settlers state. You can sence that typical Australian "no worries" mentality totally!
