Rants & Raves
This is where I blow off a little steam if I choose.
Oh baby, a concert rave. First off, I just got home from the Weezer concert. I got there late, my own fault, caught Jimmy Eat World's last three songs. I only knew one song, but geezus christ they were loud!  Before I go on, I went to the Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, it's a small venue but that just means there is no such thing as a bad seat.  Anywho, Tenacious D was next and for two guys with acoustic guitars they new how to fuckin' rock.  Started the set with Wonderboy, a classic, and while I haven't heard the CD yet, I overheard many say the set was laid out just like the CD.  I marked out (sorry for the wrestling term) bigtime for the last song. It was about how life on the road was hard or something. JB was talking about how Bon Jovi said life sucks on the road. His responce, "yeah life sucks travelling in a luxury bus while your in the luxury thing playing Tony Hawk 3 and Grand Theft Auto (insert marking out here) and you're trying to set the high score but the bus keeps shaking on you."  And next was Weezer.  HOLY SHIT, they kicked ass. Did some stuff off Pinkerton, at least I think it was. I've never heard Pinkerton, but the other two I know by heart. Off the blue album they did My name is Jonas, Buddy Holly(encore song), Undone - the Sweater song, Surf Wax America(encore as well), Say it Ain't So, In the Garage(my fave), and set finisher Only in Dreams. Off the Green Album was Don't Let Go, Photograph, Hash Pipe, set opener Island in the Sun, and I think that's it. To those who didn't want to go or couldn't, which would be just about anybody who reads this, you missed one hell of a fuckin' concert. Best concert I've ever attended. period.

Time to rave for once.  I just got back into reading comics hardcore, and i've been blown away.  Marvel has the MAX line now, which are comics intended for a mature audience, and I have bought every issue of every comic in the line so far and I am impressed.  Sure there is only 3 magazines in the line (Alias, Fury, and War Machine), and it's only been out for a month and a half, but I still got both issues of Alias, both of Fury, and all 5 of War Machine.  I can't tell you which is the best, for I am not qualified to do so, but they all kick supreme ass, and I'm willing to bet non-comic readers would enjoy them too. I shall end this by quoting the first sentence from the first issue of the MAX line, Alias #1,
"FUCK!"

This is not a rant or a rave, but my chance to say good bye to someone.  Dear Liz,
You'll never know much you really mean to me, but then again I can think of no words that can justify what you trully mean to me.  The one thing that made you unique is that you can make me smile, no matter what my mood.  You always went out of your way to just to say "hi" to me in the most over-enthusiastic way possible. Outside my small collective of friends and family, you are one the few people that showed you genuinely cared for me, despite any negative thing i said, or negative action I did, you knew it was merely a mask of my true gentle nature and forgave me for it all.  Liz I am glad to know you, and you will forever be in my heart.
                                                  Your friend forever,
                                                                 Alec Davis

WHO THE FUCK DOES MADONNA THINK SHE IS?  You don't just go and modify one of the GREATEST rock & roll songs of all time, let alone for a movie OF ALL THINGS.  By now you should know I am talking about "American Pie".  I call for a boycot of ALL radio stations that play Madonna's violation of this classic piece of american history.

I am so sick of petty little hockey or basketball games interrupting MY wrestling shows.  When will UPN and their affiliates realize that WWF Smackdown! is a make bigger ratings draw than Detroit Pistons games?  Even regionally it gets more ratings, and doesn't rating = advertisers, and advertisers = money, thus RATINGS = MONEY.

Has anyone every notice that most female-oriented rock bands, generally don't rock?  Isn't Rock and Roll about rebellion and angst, not some chick bitchin' about her boyfriend breaking up with her because he'd rather fuck a model?  Please note I did say MOST of these bands, I do realize there is a few excellent bands that don't consistently moan and whine, one great example of this is Hole.
