TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

The Ministry of Transportation includes the Harbor Authority, National Highway Commission, and the Air Operations Authority. The Ministry also works in cooperation with provincial offices and other high state ministries to provide innovative, safe, and efficient transportation solutions.

THE HARBOR AUTHORITY

The Harbor Authority maintains state run harbor services such as customs and port and harbor maintenance.. The primary purpose of the Customs Office is to collect import taxes, port fees, and prevent smuggling. The Harbor Authority works closely with Fleet Command to maintain navigational beacons, lighthouses, and buoys.

THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY COMMISSION

Currently oversees the construction of the National Highway which will connect every province of Hibernia. The four lane, high speed, highway, called the Autostrada, will revolutionize Hibernian transportation. Most of Hibernia's provincial roads are unpaved and are often privately owned. The autostrada serves two functions: first as a peace-time means of trasnportation connecting every major city, airport, and port in Hibernia; second as a war-time logistical transportation asset.

THE AIR OPERATIONS AUTHORITY

Maintains the fourteen state operated airports. The AOA also maintains navigational aides and provides air traffic assistance at the three largest Hibernian air fields. Works in cooperation with the War Command to enforce aviation legislation and and provide air security.
