The History of Rock ’n Roll Quilts

First off, I’d like to tell you that the concept of "Rock ’n Roll Quilts" only recently evolved. Back in May (2000) my favorite band, matchbox twenty, released their long-, and impatiently-, awaited second album called mad season by matchbox twenty. (It’s great music, get it if you don’t have it already.)

On the cover was this silly illustration which intrigued me and I thought it would be fun to try to quilt it. So I did, and it turned out pretty well. Next I decided to quilt the art from their first album, Yourself or Someone Like You.

I have several other quilts planned featuring CD covers from other artists, which will be posted as soon as they’re completed. It’s my guess that I’m the only quilter out there with a Rock 'n Roll focus.
