About
the artist: Judy Novella

Okay, so "artist" may be too lofty but let's go with it. I was born in Tarrytown, NY on November 25, 1965 (Thanksgiving Day - no turkey jokes please), and grew up uneventfully in western Connecticut where I still live today with my husband of ten years, Anthony.
My artistic interests began at a young age and ranged from needlecrafts to hair styling. I've been a hairdresser and an office worker, went to night school for 13 years and earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing in 1997. Currently, I'm Assistant Vice President, Marketing for an electronic display manufacturer.
I began quilting around 1993 and have found it frustrating, challenging and ultimately rewarding. Most of my quilts are small wall hangings that allow me to work on a variety of projects in a short amount of time. In the past I had given away a lot of my quilts as gifts, but as the quilts become more and more intricate, I'm entering them into shows and exhibitions.
Lately I have been focusing my quilting efforts on the recreation of "Rock 'n Roll" artwork such as CD covers and the like. The theme appeals to me for several reasons. I have the freedom to choose the subject and the technique, but mostly because I am able to combine two of my favorite pastimes, music and quilting.
