you know, there are people that try their best to watch out for the feelings of others. they'll inconvenience themselves. put themselves second. do basically anything in their power to keep those they love from getting hurt.
if you happen to know someone like this - or better yet - happen to be loved by someone like this, consider yourself incredibly fortunate. those people are gems in a sometimes selfish, uncaring world.
my mother is like this. and up until recently, she had been the only person of that mindset i'd ever had a relationship with. in my twenty years, i've let her down countless times, but she's always done everything for me.
now there is another in my life. not family, which makes him even more amazing. and he has to expect nothing from me, cause he can't trust me to come through on anything...
sad.
some advice: if you are that type of person who gives and gives and you meet me, someone who is afraid to recieve - oh how i hope you run. fast and furious. run and don't look back. because i hate to let down the people who deserve the best. and it feels like i let everyone down, eventually. |
