I Know I Had A Birthday

The Beginning of the Tumbling (2004)

Mom and myself, a wise
two days old, are released
from the hospital. Daddy
wasn't there to pick us up.
I heard mom waited a few
hours, then finally called
someone for a ride. Didn't
mind then. At 14 though,
I found out. At the exact
same time we were must
waiting and waiting, he was
screwing around with one of
his numerous girlfriends. By
this point, all my other blusters
with him were beginning to
bubble around me hard, so I
was orbiting stiff. I haven't
gotten around to asking him
who got my birthday present that day.

Homeless

I thought I went for
my escape to a different home.
Far away from those horrors;
it was my only comfort zone.

Little as I was-
I saw parts of the
man's body, not
comprehendng their
harm to my short lived
bloom immediately or the
devastation of my beliefs
yet to come.

Never understood what
was wrong... until after
the damage was long
complete and adone.
