Murdoch
MacKay Collegiate is an academic institution in the traditional
sense in that English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science,
Social Science and Physical Education Courses are the "basics"
of the curriculum. These "basics" are supplemented
by courses in Business Education, Computer Sciences, Vocational,
Second Language and Practical Arts.
To graduate
from Murdoch MacKay, students require a minimum of 28 l/2
credits including certain "compulsory" and a side
range of option" courses. Notice must be taken of the
entrance requirements of Universities, Community Colleges
and other Post Secondary institutions. Check with our School
councilors for information.
Decisions
about careers and the courses taken should be made after discussions
with teachers, administrators, counsellors and parents. Aptitudes,
interests and past performances on tests and exams also help
to determine what courses should be selected. The counsellors
at Murdoch MacKay Collegiate are available to assist students
throughout the school year in this important matter.
