29 March:  Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Final words from Sing-Jill Chow, 1999-2000 OMSS President:

{excerpt from the 1999-2000 President's Report}
....the OMSS Committee 1999-2000 has enjoyed a very successful term.  We were able to organise the traditional events as well as innovated many more new activities.  The OMSS Committee 1999-2000 walked into the room as a bunch of strangers (we were so tensed at the first meeting) and walked out as friends.  Hopefully, we will remain this way and stay in touch.  Congratulations to the new president, Jason Lee and good luck to the incoming OMSS Committee 2000-2001!

1 January:  Welcome

Greetings!  We hope everyone is having a great summer break, wherever you may be.  Hopefully, you will be rested and ready for another exciting year in Med.  Good luck for final year students!  For the 4th years, have fun in the wards and be nice to your patients.

An especially warm welcome to all new medical students!  Don't miss out on the Orientation week activities held by the student representative bodies:  MUSU, MSS and of course OMSS.  It's a great way to make have some fun and make new friends, as well as gain valuable advise from your seniors!  Also, pick up your complimentary copy of the Alternative, a magazine by the OMSS to help you settle in and get through Med.

Throughout the year, OMSS will be holding many events.  Last year's events include the Mt Buller Ski Trip, a Basketball Tournament, a Badminton Tournament, an Internship Seminar and of course the OMSS Annual Dinner.  Activities may vary from year to year, depending on this year's committee.  If you are a particularly enthusiastic person, then run for a position in the OMSS!  We need representatives from each year level to help organise events.
