The one-month long tournament was an absolute success.  Mark and Suat-Li joined Gary and I in the beginning of the semester, and united, we were formidable event organisers.  We put up posters daily, promoting the event and in particular my posters with pro-feminist sentiments attracted many female spectators.  Two or three games were played on Wednesday each week with a spectator turn-out of nearly a hundred.  The majority, of course cheered for the Figjam, the eventual winner.  Figjam did indeed take the court by storm, scoring endlessly, rebounding endlessly and each time 'overdosed' by its own sense of superiority.  Although there were occasions when players hurled verbal abuses at each other and some teams threatened to boycott their games, the friendly atmosphere that we originally intended did last all throughout the tournament.  The final between the Figjam and Midnight Psychos was an extremely close match and it was only a matter of luck that the Figjam became the eventual winner - as the final score of 20-19 suggests.  Until the final siren, the crowd too cheered like kindergarten kids but this time the crowd's favourite was the Psychos, having become sick of a month-long dominance by the Figjam.

To sum up, it was nothing less than an Earth-shattering-at-a-Richter-scale-of-7.0-success and it was everyone's wish that we would make this an annual event.  Well if you want the event to be held next year too, then consider that there will be a general OMSS election early next year.  So there....

Finally, I must acknowledge all the people who have played no smaller role than mine in making this event possible.  Thanks to all the teams and their respective captains; Daniel, Richard, Tom, Cameron, Stanley and Ye, for getting the teams so well organised, to all the female players, who displayed their girl-power in every single game and to my fellow OMSS reps who have all been tremendously supportive.  And especially, thank you Gary, for being such a (beep) (beep) enfant-terrible but without whom this event just was not possible, Mark who kindly sent me all those postcards while he was away in Europe and Suat-Li, for being the official photographer.

It's now Saturday morning and I am overwhelmed by a sense of joy at having nearly completed this article.  I look outside through the large window and see the birds of fortuities flying high up in the blue sky.  I am now momentarily hypnotised by the sight of a leaf falling in a graceful summersault...  I close my eyes and begin humming to the tune of Clair de Lune.......  figjams...  OCDs...... psychos........  madness.......  overdosed........  spiders........  Garyase...........  Markase...............  Suat-Liase....
