First and foremost, would like to wish all the    Members, Donors and Devotees a happy Vikrama    Tamil New Year.

When I took office in May 1999,I was faced with the undaunted task of living up to my predecessor, Mr. M.P.Kanisan's achievements, and continue to operate the temple to the satisfaction of the devotees. Thankfully, with the strong support of my able and dedicated team, I pulled through my maiden year as president with reasonable success.

In the course of the year, we managed to settle all outstanding payments To the contractors from our temple construction project (phase 1) and raised a sum of about $155,000 by March 2000. We are looking into embarking on the commencement of the Multi Purpose Hall project (Phase 2) by the 2nd half of this year. This project is expected to be completed within 2 years from the date of commencement. However, in order to confidently commence this project, we need to accumulate at least $500,000.

With the continued strong support from the members, donors and devotees,and with the dedication and commitment of the Management Committee and the temple volunteers, we are confident of achieving this target. We have recently launched the 4th Donation Draw which will be drawn on 18th June 2000. I would like to take this opportunity to urge each and every one of you to play your role in helping us to raise $300,000out of this project .

On the religious front, we have made significant progress in conducting quality poojas and having a specially arranged poojas like the Saraswathy Vidhyarathana, Maha Thithi, Ruthra Homam and the Shuyambara Kala Paarvathi Homam, for the benefit of the devottes. To this end, we have recruited quality priests from India. With this, we hope to improve the quality of our services and have more special poojas this year, commencing with the Sri Saraswathy Vidyaradhana on Friday , 21st April 2000 (Good Friday Holiday).

With your support, both financially and in-kind, we can only get better, and hope to reach greater heights in providing religious, cultural and social services to the Hindus in Singapore.
