The whole training syllabus consists
of three courses or phases:
- The Basic Phase,
using the C-105 type basic trainers (i.e. the military
version of the Žlín Z-126 trainer planes) for about 50 flying
hours.
- The Advanced Phase, using the Yakovlev Yak-11 type
advanced trainers for about 50 flying hours.
- The Combat Phase, using the Mikoyan-Gurevich UTI MiG-15 jet
trainers for dual flights and the MiG-15 single-seat fighter
planes for solo flights, for a total of about 100 flying hours.
Note: The course differs slightly from the three
phases of flying training at our Air Force Flying School in Indonesia, which consists of the Primary Phase,
the Basic Phase, and the Advanced Phase. Upon completion of
the Advanced Phase one should pass through a Transition Phase held
at the corresponding operational squadrons (fighters, bombers,
cargo/transport, helicopters, etc.) in order to qualify as an Air Force
officer in the first place, and at the same time to be eligible to receive
an operational pilot rating. It is usually represented by a pilot
license and a pilot wings to wear.

The basic and advanced training courses were conducted
on a small airfield near Prostějov (Prosnitz), a small
town south of Olomouc
(Olmutz) in the Moravian region, while the combat training held on an
airbase in Hradec Králové (Königratz), a city in the
Bohemian region.
As for the combat training, only the jet fighter/MiG
pilot candidates were being trained in Hradec Králové, while training for
the jet bomber/Ilyushin pilot (and navigator) candidates was held at Přerov,
another town in the Moravian region which located near the border with Slovakia.

Here are some of my friends and me in front of our
barracks at Stíchovice airbase
in Prostějov,
Moravia. Supposingly, we
were the distinguished
graduates of the Advanced
Training course (flying the Yak-11
trainer planes).
