My late father-in-law, B.K.R.T. Wiryonegoro (B.R.M. Kazanussabi) (born 1918),  passed away in 1971, was a former agrarian official at the local government office in Yogyakarta, a special province within the Central Java region. He had been educated in the Netherlands together with several relatives from the Yogyakarta's Kraton. He was an immediate cousin of the previous Sultan of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX,  who was also one of the former Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia (i.e. the 2nd Vice President).

His father was a crown prince of the Yogyakarta's Kraton ('Kraton' or 'keratuan' literally means kingdom) bearing the royal title of:

"Sampeyan Dalem Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Anom Hamengkunegoro Soedibyo Rojo Putro Narendro Mataram" (Gusti Raden Mas Putro)

 — shortened to S.D.K.G.P.A.A. Hamengkunegoro (G.R.M. Putro) — and is usually referred to as 'Eyang Gusti' by his immediate descendants.
'Eyang' in Javanese means 'grandfather' and 'Gusti' is equivalent to the English word 'Lord'. Eyang Gusti (born March 8, 1879) had one royal consort, 5 concubines and 2 consolers and my father-in-law was among the youngest of Eyang Gusti's all 30 children.

When my father-in-law was born, his mother died and therefore he was then raised by his aunt, known to us as 'Eyang Ratu'Eyang Gusti passed away at the age of 34, just shortly before he should've been crowned as the new Sultan of the Yogyakarta's Kraton, i.e. Sultan Hamengku Buwono VIII.

My mother-in-law, R. Ay. Siti Juaminu (born 1922), who used to live in Yogyakarta, passed away on December 15, 1999 at the age of 77. She was related to her husband (my father-in-law) within the Kraton's circles as such, that my father-in-law should actually address her as his aunt. In my humble opinion, my wife resembles her mother (my mother-in-law) quite considerably.
