| The study had been significant in three ways: Participants of the Study. Primarily, the data from this study was beneficial to the participants in the following ways: (1) awareness of their self-esteem level as a group and individually; (2) awareness of their ranking of values and attitudes for Global Citizenship; and (3) the experience of their participation in this research served as a catalyst and motivation to improve awareness and active participation in Global citizenry. |

| Schools of the Participants. Secondly, the study was beneficial to the schools of the participants as it: (1) provided a data bank on the profile of their students with OFW parent/s in a website form; (2) provided information of the ranking of values and attitudes for Global Citizenship that enhance classroom teaching strategies of various subjects that encompasses Global Citizenship concepts; (3) was an additional tool for existing �coping up with parental absenteeism,� programmes and activities in counseling as well as preventive and alternative programmes for adolescents with OFW parent/s; (4) gives opportunities for future collaborative activities to strengthen correspondence and activities among students, teachers, and the OFW parents using the website where the profile will be conveniently accessible from any part of the world. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Education sector and NGOs worldwide. Thirdly, the profile, also known as a behavioral evaluation in the academic world, presented in a website form can be a venue or a �working room,� that can materialize collaborative efforts between the education sector and the NGOs working with family welfare of OFWs, to give sustainable and in-depth assistance to children of OFWs. The website and its contents may be utilized to create help-line projects by concerned groups locally and internationally. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Scope and Limitation of the Study | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is a qualitative and quantitative study. The data from the various participants� insights made up the qualitative aspect. The validated researcher-constructed questionnaire and a standardized self-esteem scale composed the quantitative aspect. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| The study was conducted in from June to July 2002, and the participants of the study were limited to the population of the First to Fourth year Public high school students residing and studying in Muntinlupa City who have OFW parent/s. These selected students came from the four public high schools in the said City, who are enrolled for the School Year 2002-2003. Aside from time and financial constraints placed on achieving the research, the four public high schools found in the resident area of the researcher, have been chosen for the purpose of the researcher being available for a session with the students on Global Citizenship after the questionnaire have been given and collected for evaluation. The researcher felt it is the proper gesture for the group to know the results of the research. The researcher also introduced the website to the group of students for them to access, and for its future improvement assisted by the students, and to guide constructions of student-made websites closely supervised by the researcher. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| The scope of the needs for the analysis of this study focused on Oxfam�s Six Values and Attitudes for Global Citizenship (1997) utilized by the researcher for the twenty Global issues presented in a questionnaire. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale was utilized to seek the level of self-esteem and its relationship to the six values and attitudes for Global Citizenship presented in the questionnaire. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
