Definition of Terms
The following are the terms used in this study:

Attitudes. These pertain to the various ways of thinking and behaving toward situations and experiences. In the study, the participants were presented with various global issues. They were asked to rank six reactions, each reaction representing one of the Six Values and Attitudes for Global Citizenship.

Belief that people can make a difference. A value and attitude for Global Citizenship, which pertains to the willingness to work towards a more fair future for everyone.
Clerical Workers. This skill category includes OFW parents working as secretaries and office workers.

Commitment to social justice and equity. A value and attitude for Global Citizenship, which pertains to the sense of responsibility for social justice and fair-mindedness.

Concern for environment and commitment to sustainable development. A value and attitude for Global Citizenship which pertains to the concern for the future of the planet and future generations; as well as commitment to a lifestyle for a nurtured and maintainable world.

Empathy and sense of common humanity. A value and attitude for Global Citizenship, which pertains to the sense of concern for humanity and common needs of people.

Environmental Education. It is the area of study of the environment, in order to protect it from damage by human activities.

Global. A description relating to the whole world.
Global Citizenship. It pertains to status of a person who knows and understands, have the skills, and values and attitudes of worldwide issues and problems.

Global Community/Village. The global village is all the countries of the world when thought of as being closely connected by modern communications and therefore economically, politically, socially and environmentally dependent on each other. 

Global Education. This is an area of study that deals with worldwide concerns and trends, as well as active participation in issues affecting the Earth. Focus is on Environmental and Peace education.
Internet Access. This pertains to the electronic mail service, surfing for information, and other related activities that are done using the connection between phone line and the computer modem.

Levels of Self-Esteem. This pertains to the belief of one�s capacities and abilities to live a constructive, peaceful and positively influencing life with others. Three descriptive levels of self-esteem were assigned by the researcher to describe the raw scores of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. They were: above average, average, and below average.

Online activities. This pertains to the different educational activities that are done between students from different countries. It includes, net conferencing, virtual visits to places of interest, website designing, e-mailing, etc.

Overseas Filipino Workers. This pertains to the group of Filipino citizens who are currently working abroad whether land or sea based, and whose family members are residing in the Philippines.
Production Workers. This skill category includes OFW parents working as pattern makers, controllers, sewers, carpet designers, quality controllers, inspectors, furniture makers, machine operators in factories, stockmen, production-line workers, factory workers, those who make embroideries, garments, and upholstery, etc.

Professional & Technical Workers. This skill category includes OFW parents working as accountants, carpenters, construction workers, designers, laboratory technicians, painters, singers, entertainers, welders, skin consultants, electricians, foremen, plumber, pipe fitters, etc.

Self-efficacy. This is a component of self-esteem that deals with confidence in the ability to cope with life�s challenges.
Self-respect. This is a component of self-esteem that deals with oneself as deserving of happiness, achievement, and love.

Sense of Identity and Self-Esteem. A value and attitude for Global Citizenship, which pertains to being open-minded about Global issues.
