Research Environment
The study was conducted on the entire population of first to fourth year public high school students in the City of Muntinlupa, Metro Manila. The students with OFW parent/s were identified and tapped for this study. 

The City of Muntinlupa is bonded on the north by Taguig, on the northwest by Para�aque, on the west by Las Pi�as, on the southwest by the province of Cavite, south by the province of Laguna, and on the east by Laguna de Bay. It is 22 kilometres south of Metro Manila, easily accessible to the southern provinces of Laguna, Batangas, Quezon and all points of Metro Manila through the National Highway and the South Luzon Expressway (CPDO, 2001). It has a total land area of 46.7 square kilometers, the fourth largest in the region of Metro Manila (NSO).
After the ratification of the 1986 Constitution, Muntinlupa was divided into two districts. District I included Barangays: Tunasan, Poblacion, Putatan and Bayanan while District II consisted of Barangays: Alabang, Cupang, Buli, Sucat and New Alabang. Muntinlupa formally became a charter city when President Fidel Ramos signed Republic Act 7926 proclaiming Muntinlupa as a city. Jaime R. In 2001 the city had a total population of 391,760. The average annual family income based on Family Income and Expenditure Survey in 2000 is P238, 038.00 (National Statistics Office, 2002).

Muntinlupa City is served by 14 public elementary schools, four public secondary schools, one public tertiary school, and 40 private and parochial schools (Website at: http://www.muntinlupacity.gov.ph).
