| This year, Russia has chosen one of its most popular bands - Mumiy Troll - to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest. This colourful foursome has over the past few years become very popular in their home country and also in Eastern Europe the band is very well known. Mumiy Troll was chosen to be the Russian candidate without a national final. And Russian television considered "Lady alpine blue" the best possible song . "Lady Alpine Blue" is a very unique song that cannot be defined as a typical Song Contest entry. It tends more towards the rock genre en according to some, the band's way of singing, reminds them of Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones. Nice examples these are, of course, but now we have to wait and see whether the Song Contest public will reward Russia with a lot of points. Last year, the Russians ended op in 2nd place with "Solo" ,so without any doubt, the pressure on Mumiy Troll is very big! |
