Nemesis: White Analysis

Written on 4/16/00

The famous Lin Sivvi is probably the main focus of white. Who could blame it. All you have to do is pay the Rebel's mana cost and boom, that Rebel comes into play. There are also other powerful creatures in this set.

Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero is the star in white. The ultimate Rebel retriever. This card could help improve the popularity of Rebel decks. Lin Sivvi could help get any Rebel out just by paying that Rebel's mana cost. This card also believes in recycling. You could get back any Rebel card from the graveyard to the bottom of the library for reuse!! With this card, your Rebel deck will never run out of creatures.

Avenger en-Dal gives you some way of destroying creatures. Just pay 3 mana, discard a mana, and let your opponent gain life equal to the creature's power to destroy a attack creature. What the hell is Wizard of the Coast thinking?!? Can this card be any suckier??? There are better selections out there, don't waste your time on this one.

Blinding Angel on the other hand is a creature with potential. It's a 2/4 flyer for 5 mana. Whenever it deals damage to a player, that players skips his or her next combat phase. That's what you call possibilities. With this creature out your opponent may never be able to attack you again. This paired up with blue's control deck is super.

Chieftain en-Dal gives your creatures a great advantage. When it attacks, it gives all attacking creature first strikes. First strike is a very powerful ability. This card gives your creature an edge in combat over other creatures.

Spiritual Asylum isn't really that good. Your lands and creatures can't be the target of spell or abilities but as soon as your creature attacks, you have to sacrifice Spiritual Asylum. What good is the Asylum when it goes away when you attack? You have to attack to win. Plus this enchantment cost 4 mana too. Not a good price to pay.

Seal of Cleansing is just an enchantment version of Disenchant so there's no need to explain it. You all know why Disenchant is so good.

Topple allows you to get rid of the biggest creature in the game for only 3 mana. This card is pretty good when you're playing a weenie deck. Plus it removes the creature from the game, not just from play. Your opponent will never get it back!!
