Nemesis: Black Analysis

Black got the biggest help in this set with cards such as Ascendant Evincar, Rathi Assassin, Massacre, Vicious Hunger, and much more.
First of all there aren't many extremely powerful card in this set but we do have some interesting ones. Some cards help your creatures get bigger. One good example is Ascendant Evincar. Ascendant Evincar is a great addition to any black deck and can be devasting against any weenie deck. It acts as a Bad Moon without the disadvantage of helping your opponent if he happens to play black too. Plus it also makes your opponent's creature smaller.
Another great creature enhancer is Death Pit Offering. Sure it kills off all your creature when it comes into play but your later creatures get +2/+2. Of course you won't play it when you have a ton of creatures in play. If you're lucky, you could play it on the second turn with a Dark Ritual and then play your weenies. Turning your little weenies into a huge threat for your opponent.
Some other cards are creature eliminators. Cards such as Massacre, Vicious Hunger, Rathi Assassin, and Seal of Doom are great. Massacre gives all creatures -2/-2. This is a great sideboard against weenies. This can kill off all of your opponent's weenies, leaving you to cast your weenies for a onslaught. Just thinking about it makes me laugh.
Vicious Hunger is also good. It does 2 damage to a creature plus you gain 2 lives. All that for only two mana. You could either gain lives when you need it the most or pick off that annoying weenie your opponent has. Either way, it's still win win.
Seal of Doom is a enchantment version of Dark Banishing and we all know why Dark Banishing is so powerful. Still, this card isn't as good as Dark Banishing. Dark Banishing provides the element of surprise. Seal of Doom is an enchantment so your opponent will know what to expect. It's still a good creature removal.
Rathi Assassin is another duplicate of an old ability. You get to tap it to destroy a tapped nonblack creature. This card mimicks Royal Assassin except in this case you have to pay 3 mana to destroy the creature.
