Pine Tree Heaven

This was just way too nice to pass up. Beautiful majestic tall pine trees, a whiff of pine in the air and absolutely no undergrowth, just thick pine needle straw. This would be very easy to ride around every tree with no blazed trails.

Something New
Whoop Dee Doo's

This is a newly created trail loop. I think this was meant for enduro riding, but we found it quite enjoyable for biking. Clubs often do this, and then maintain the trail for MTB after motocross races have broken it in.

There are lots of little up and down bumps on this section. Do a bunch of these with a little speed, and you feel like you've been on a roller coaster.

This trails was well marked with these red arrow signs so there was no fear of getting lost. It did meet up with the original loop trail at the park road but added another 2 miles.

Recent Fire?

Very strange and eerie. You could smell the charcoal (like a barbecue). This was definitely a recent burn. Looks like they did it on purpose, because all the trees are still standing and the bark is only cinged and not peeled off?

A Moment Of Sunshine

I had to take this picture because it was the only clear break in the clouds all day and the sun just streamed through for about 10 minutes then it turned cloudy again.

This was the last leg of the older Killer 3 Trail Loop that continued on past the park entrance road (or maybe it's the starting point of the trail and we actually started at the mid-point right from the parking lot?)

Wide Single Track

An extra picture. Not sure why I took it. Probably because the track was so wide and buff smooth and the leaves on the trees. Such a change from snow and cold.
